Fairphone Joins Toward Zero Exposure Program!

CEPN is thrilled to announce that Fairphone has pledged to the Toward Zero Exposure program, as the first smartphone company of its size, joining the three Founding Signatories in the second year of the program. As a leader in sustainability and social responsibility, Fairphone is committing through this program to continue and accelerate existing efforts to protect workers from exposure to hazardous chemicals in the electronics supply chain.

Fairphone, a Dutch social enterprise building a market for ethical smartphones, started in 2013 as a company founded on the mission: “By establishing a viable market for ethical electronics, we motivate the entire industry to act more responsibly.” Fairphone’s business model and products are designed to empower consumers; proving that fairness is both possible, and good for business.

Learn more about the Toward Zero Exposure program’s six commitments and about how companies throughout the electronics supply chain can join these leaders in making the industry a safer place for workers.
