ChemWorks

ChemWorks is a collaboration of brands, NGOs and certification programs working to scale the availability and accelerate the adoption of safer cleaners that protect workers and the environment. ChemWorks is informed by an advisory group and led by the non-profit organization, ChemFORWARD.

Opportunity for electronics companies and formulators

  • ChemWorks is seeking electronics companies to encourage their formulators and suppliers of precision cleaners and degreasers used in electronics assembly to have their products pre-screened, assessed and certified through the ChemWorks program and to prefer the use of certified products throughout their supply chains
  • Electronics companies have free access to source certified safer formulations on ChemWorks.org
  • Formulators have free access to request screening and free access to the ChemFORWARD chemical optimization platform to find verified safer alternatives (if needed). Screening can also help to identify products in the supplier's portfolio that may be good candidates for a rigorous third-party certification.

Pre-screening creates a pipeline of certified products

  1. PRE-SCREEN & OPTIMIZE FOR CERTIFICATION POTENTIAL
ChemFORWARD provides Formulation Ingredient Intelligence Reports (FIIR) to allow suppliers to pre-screen their formulations against certification requirements, and to optimize them with safer chemicals. Pre-screening leverages the ChemFORWARD shared repository of chemical hazard assessments (CHAs) to provide quick results.
  2. CERTIFY YOUR PRODUCT
Select a certification program from the approved programs, contact an Assessor for a cost estimate, execute an NDA (if needed), and provide ingredient disclosure per the program rules. The Assessor will evaluate your product and generate new CHAs (if needed).
  3. AMPLIFY TO BRANDS AND CONTRACT MANUFACTURERS
Certified products will be posted and promoted on the ChemWorks platform, pushed to global electronics companies, and preferred by ChemWorks partners.
